Infectious diseases are caused by organisms such as bacteria, viruses, fungi or parasites. Infectious diseases can often be passed from one person to another. And in some cases, are transmitted by insects or by consuming contaminated food or water or being exposed to airborne organisms . They are communicable diseases and are broad in variety.

 

The WHO has identified Malaria, TB and HIV/AIDS as the sixth, eighth and ninth biggest killer diseases in low-income countries. With TB also featuring as the seventh most common cause of death in low-medium income countries.
