Diabetes Mellitus (DM) is a health condition characterised by one having a higher-than-normal sugar level in the blood. It may be due to inadequate secretion of insulin by the pancreas or resistance to insulin by the insulin receptors; consequently, the sugar in the blood is not available for use in the cells, resulting in the symptoms of Diabetes. There are different types of DM; Type 1, Type 2 and gestational diabetes. The symptoms are polyuria, polyphagia and polydipsia (passing too much urine, eating too much and drinking too much due to dehydration). Type 1 is the juvenile onset of DM, Type 2 is the adult-onset while gestational DM is triggered by pregnancy.
Tuberculosis (TB) is a contagious airborne infectious disease caused by a germ, Mycobacterium Tuberculosis, transmitted through inhalation of droplets containing the infectious organism. An estimated 10.6 million people (95% UI: 9.9–11 million) fell ill with TB globally in 2021. As a chronic respiratory tract condition, it primarily affects the lungs but can impact other parts of the body such as the spine, brain, or kidneys.
